Job Search Workshop
Hello all,
I hope that everyone’s semester is off to a great start!
GAPS will soon be holding its first brown bag workshop of the semester, led by Alex Arifianto and Professors Wood and Wheatley, covering their experiences on the job market.
The workshop will be held on Wednesday, September 22, from 11:30am-12:30pm in the department library/conference room (6761).
Alex will be discussing his recent interview experiences at the annual APSA conference in Washington DC, while Professors Wood and Wheatley will be offering advice and discussing their own experiences and academic job searching in general.
As the eventual goal of every graduate student in political science is to find a job, typically a tenure-track faculty position in a college or university setting, all students in the department are encouraged to attend. Even if you are not currently on or soon to be on the market the information and insight offered in the workshop will hopefully give you a bit head start when that time comes.
We look forward to seeing you all there!

New GAPS Site
Hello Everyone,
This is the new website for the Graduate Association of Political Science Students (GAPS) at Arizona State University!
We will be using this site to host resources for students in addition to student profiles.
Also, this site hosts a schedule of not only planned GAPS events, but also guest speakers, conferences, proposal deadlines, and more, so be sure to check the site often for updates. Announcements will be made on the homepage whenever new information is added as well as to inform students of what is happening both within the department and the discipline at large.
If you have not done so yet, please contact me with information for your student profile and a picture that I can resize to 100(width)x130(height) pixels. If you are not sure about the size send me what you have and I will let you know if it will work. Also, if you have any useful information for the site to incorporate please let me know.
